EX SHOP

In my “EX SHOP” exhibition, I focused on the emotions tied to objects left behind after a breakup. Based on my own experience of not knowing whether to keep or throw away such items, I created a space that looked like a flea market. I invited people to donate objects they couldn’t part with but didn’t want to keep in their homes—like old hoodies, unwanted gifts, and other things from past relationships. “EX SHOP” turned into a shared collection of memories, giving people a chance to let go and reflect on the items we hold onto from our past.

The “Dezarhivari” exhibition revolves around the idea of uncovering and re-examining personal archives, memories, and objects that carry emotional weight. Within this broader concept, I participated with a separate room under the theme “EX SHOP.” This space was designed to resemble a flea market, showcasing objects donated by people who had gone through breakups.

Having personally faced the dilemma of what to do with items left behind after ending relationships, I decided to reach out to others experiencing the same challenge. The exhibition, curated by Matei Bejenaru, included contributions from master’s students in Photography and Video from IaÈ™i and Bucharest:
Vlad Albu / Ioana Berdan / Robert Bouariu / Andrei Botnaru / Silvia Constantin / Larissa Danilov / Alice Feraru / Mihai Florea / Francesca Ignat / Mircea Hristescu / Mălina Moncea.
